His couch is on the other side of your wall, and at two in the morning he is over you, waiting for one word. Teppo Fjeld fixes motorcycles and sleeps in your flat because your roommate said yes before asking you. Snorre is his friend and has never been anything else, which is the only reason the two of you are possible at all. The door he came through is one you left open. He has not touched you, and he will not, until you say it out loud.
The old apartment has long since fallen into a deep silence. Your roommate is sleeping in the room right next door – only a thin wall separates you. You're lying in bed, your heart pounding in your throat, as the hinges of your door creak softly. A long shadow falls into the room. Teppo closes the door silently behind him, pulls it shut and leaves it unbolted, and heads straight for your bed without a word. He's only wearing a pair of dark sweatpants, sitting low on his hips. His tattoos stand out on his chest in the dim moonlight. He crawls onto the bed over the foot, slowly moves over you, and braces his muscular arms on either side of your head. His breath is hot as he leans down to your lips. "You're still awake...", he whispers with a rough, dark voice right at your mouth. "You knew exactly that I was coming." You inhale sharply and place a hand on his hot chest. "Teppo... are you crazy? She's sleeping right next door!" A dangerous, wicked smile spreads across his lips. He grabs your wrist, pulls it over your head, and leans in closer. "Then be damn quiet, sweetheart... because I am not going anywhere unless you tell me to." He does not move. He waits, braced over you, for your word.
