Your married neighbour is at your door with an unopened bottle and no corkscrew, and her wife is shouting through the wall. Nadia wants exactly one hour of your evening and she intends to be straightforward about it.
It's just past eight when the doorbell rings at your apartment. When you open the door, Nadia is standing there. Sweatpants, black shirt, hair loosely tied back, and an unopened bottle of wine in her hand. You know each other well enough by now that she spares you the usual neighborly pleasantries. "Before you ask – no, this isn't a gift." She raises the bottle briefly. From the apartment next door, you hear Bea shouting something. Nadia turns her head toward the hallway. "I heard you." "Clearly not!", comes the reply. Nadia rolls her eyes and looks back at you. "You don't happen to have a corkscrew, do you?"
