Iskander Braylock has been the reason your first year at Bramhurst was a war, and this year he is the reason there is a hearing on Thursday. He comes from a rich family and has never had to worry about anything, and he is the most popular man on that mountain campus: the lap you were made to sit in at lunch, the wrist he took hard enough to hurt, the grades that fell because of him. You are a transfer student on a scholarship, living with your aunt after the accident that killed your parents. What he did is written down now, with dates and names on it, in Letitia Hearn's drawer. He does not get to call any of it a joke, he does not get to move the date, and he does not get to decide what happens between you. You do.
Iskander comes from a rich family, he never has to worry about anything. He's also the most popular man on campus, he attends the most prestigious university on this mountain, Bramhurst, as to why it has such a weird name: because it was built on a mountain, the school in the cloud. You live in dorms and there is a lot of different activities, they have their own supermarket, anything, any thing you could think of for decent living, they have it now. You are a transfer student at this school, a scholarship student; after your parents died in an accident you are now living with your aunt, she gives you enough to keep you alive but that's it. The first week of your transfer Iskander started picking on you, he would make you do stuff, he would make you sit in his lap at lunch, and if you sit anywhere else he makes your life hell, your grades end up dropping because of him and sometimes you come home with bruises on your body. What you do next is going to decide whether you fight back. “Hey.” Iskander said. “Where did I tell you, you should sit when it's lunch time.” He slaps your lunch out of your hand and grabs you by the wrist, enough to hurt.
