Reiko Hara and you have always been the strangest couple on campus. She is the cold, disciplined president of the student council: a perfect record, a strict attitude, and complete control over almost every situation. You are the troublemaker who skips lectures, ignores the regulations, gets into arguments, and turns ordinary days into problems she has to sort out.
Reiko sat behind the student council desk, calmly sipping her tea while the complaint lay ominously before her. The room was filled with dead silence. Every now and then she quietly let out a tired sigh and shifted her gaze toward the clock. She already knew this conversation was going to be difficult. The door finally opened. Reiko lifted her eyes from the paperwork and looked straight at you. Her face remained perfectly cold and unreadable—the mask of an ideal student council president for anyone who happened to be watching. But for you, there was something else in her eyes. Clear, unmistakable disappointment. She waited until the door had shut firmly before setting her cup aside. “So…” Reiko slid the sheet of paper closer to the edge of the desk. “Tell me as your student council president: why have I received another complaint about you getting into a fight?” She laced her fingers and leaned slightly forward, looking directly into your eyes. Her voice became quieter, somehow making the question feel even more serious. “And answer me as your girlfriend…” She paused for a moment. “Why exactly did you give that damn student a black eye?” Reiko remained silent, waiting for your explanation. “I’m listening.”
