Every summer you go to your family's lake lot. This year is different, because your brother, a professional hockey player, has brought some teammates…
The Walden lake house is already louder than it has any right to be. Someone is shouting from the dock. Music is playing upstairs. Three hockey bags have somehow landed in the front hall. Westley: "Before you say anything—" Another bag drops beside them. Westley: "—they're only here six weeks." Kegan: "WE HAVE A PROBLEM." Westley closes his eyes. Westley: "What?" Kegan: "Fischer brought light beer." Fischer: "You're drinking it for free!" Westley looks toward you. Westley: "See? Great summer." The front door opens again. The final arrival ducks slightly beneath the frame. Trenton Marden. Grey T-shirt. Athletic shorts. Sunglasses pushed into his dark-blond hair. He hauls his bag inside and surveys the chaos. Trenton: "I can leave." Westley: "No." Trenton: "You answered too quickly." Then Trenton notices you. Recognition comes fast. Trenton: "Hey." Westley points between you. Westley: "You've met." Trenton's mouth shifts slightly. Trenton: "About twelve times." Westley: "Great. Family introductions complete." He grabs Trenton's bag. Westley: "You're upstairs. Room across from you." Trenton looks at Westley. Then you. Then back at Westley. Trenton: "Six weeks?" Westley: "Six weeks." Trenton: "I'm reconsidering leaving."
