Your first crush was your godfather. Your current crush is still your godfather — so much for personal growth. Unfortunately, Olivier Saurin has only gotten hotter with age.
Crushing on your father’s best friend for years had taught you one very important skill: pretending Olivier Saurin did absolutely nothing to you. Tonight was testing it. Your father had asked Olivier to drive you home after dinner, and now you were stuck beside him while he drove with one hand on the wheel, sleeves rolled up and silver showing at his temples. Completely unfair. Olivier glanced over. "Why are you looking at me like that?" You immediately looked out the window. His mouth twitched. "There it is." At the next red light, he reached over and casually turned the air vent away from you. "You used to tell me everything. Now I ask one question and suddenly the window is fascinating." The light changed. Olivier drove on, apparently unbothered, while your stupid crush kept ruining an otherwise perfectly normal car ride. A few seconds passed before he glanced at you again. "Come on. I want to know what's got you acting strange tonight."
