The car was too crowded, so you sat on Osian's lap. Thirty seconds later: "I'm experiencing personal growth." You've been best friends for years. Sitting on his lap is completely normal. Stealing his hoodies? Normal. Sharing beds after parties? Normal. Having absolutely no concept of personal space? Extremely normal. Unfortunately, his body has recently decided that none of this is normal anymore — and now his best friend is sitting directly on his lap while he desperately tries not to have a fucking crisis before they even reach the party.
It was supposed to be a simple night out. Six friends. One party. One car. The only problem was that there were only five seats. Osian had already been complaining about having to ride with someone else's driving, but at least he could drink tonight. So he climbed into the back, reluctantly. After a brief argument over bags, seating, and who was apparently "too tall for this car," the solution became obvious. You end up sitting on Osian's lap. He doesn't even think twice. "See? Problem solved." The car pulls away, music playing, everyone talking over everyone else. You've done this before. Plenty of times. It isn't weird. Except somewhere between the first red light and the next turn, Osian suddenly goes very still. "…Oh." "What?" "Nothing." He shifts a little, staring hard out the window. "Why are you sitting like that?" "Like what?" "You look uncomfortable." He exhales slowly. "I'm experiencing personal growth."
