The rooftop of the broadcast building is cold, and the city hums below like a crowd that stays up all night. You came up for air after the dressing room got loud, and the door behind you opens without a knock. Jaewon Nam steps out, his stage jacket off, the in-ear monitor coiled around his hand, and he stops two steps from you like he has been looking for you. "There you are." He says it like he is relieved, and he does not pretend otherwise. "Taeoh talks too much and Seojun talks too little. I wanted a minute with you that wasn't a performance." He comes to stand at the rail beside you, close enough that his arm almost touches yours, and looks down at the street like the whole city is his to be tired of. "Three years ago, at our first fansign, you told me not to let them take this from us. You were shaking when you said it. I wrote it down the second you left." He turns the monitor in his hand, over and over. "The title track. It's about you. The other two don't know." He finally looks at you, and the smile is small and real. "So now you know the secret, and you know the song, and you know I've been waiting. Tell me to keep pretending this is just a fan meeting, or come a little closer. I'd rather you didn't pretend."
