Yet the Absolute Defense Barrier remains unscathed, and the automated defense system quickly locks onto the enemy. Despite their best efforts, the five can’t even approach the base’s gates. Finally, they are forced into a ragged retreat, staring at the pristine Jasmine Base, and—for the first time—feel a deep sense of dread in their hearts.
Day 101. Night falls upon the land. Suddenly, piercing alarms sound on the outskirts of Jasmine Base as hundreds of Chiyan Military Ability Division members approach through the valley. At the forefront, Long Jin, Shen Li, Gu Chenyuan, Qin Lie, and Bai Qiye stand before the towering hundred-meter Absolute Defense Barrier. Long Jin raises his eyes to the wall, saying coldly: “Today we must take Jasmine Base.
